As twilight descends upon The Greek Theatre, Spike TV presents “SCREAM 2009,” an evening where galaxies collide and genres unite for the ultimate celebration of all things sci-fi, fantasy, horror and comic book. The 4th annual “SCREAM” is the first and only global event of its kind to honor and celebrate the hottest films, TV shows, comics, actors, creators, icons and pioneers who have influenced and shaped these genres. “SCREAM 2009” will tape on Saturday, October 17 in Los Angeles, CA. The two-hour extravaganza will premiere on Spike TV on Tuesday, October 27 (10:00 PM-Midnight, ET/PT).

Spike TV jumps on the 'Twilight' and 'True Blood' bandwagon for SCREAM 2009

Network for guys embraces 'The Year of the Vampire' with new 'New Moon' footage

Let's be honest, if hardcore horror fans turn their noses up at anything it's "The Twilight Saga," but Spike TV is jumping on the phenomenon by making "New Moon" a centerpiece of "SCREAM 2009."

The network announced today that the pseudo awards show will feature cast members from "New Moon" as well as the debut of new footage from what is expected to be one of November's biggest releases. Who will appear from the cast is unclear, but it would be surprising for Summit to drag Kristen Stewart or Robert Pattinson from Vancouver for the event while they are still shooting "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse." Our guess? "New Moon" vampire and "Underworld" franchise star Michael Sheen or the members of the Wolfpack (with shirts on for this crowd).

"Twilight" isn't the only vampire franchise that will be celebrated, however. Also in attendance will be the "True Blood" entourage of creator Alan Ball, Stephen Moyer, Anna Paquin, Alexander Skarsgård and Sam Trammell.

Non vampire fans will be happy to see Tobey Maguire present Spider-Man co-creator Stan Lee honored with the Comic-Con Icon Award. In many ways the Marvel Comics legend is Hollywood's current creative mindtap having created or co-created the Hulk, Iron Man, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, Thor and the Avengers. Maguire will soon dawn the tights again to play the web-slinger in "Spider-Man 4."

For horror fans, "SCREAM 2009" will present the godfather of the modern horror film, George Romero, with this year's Scream Mastermind Award. Romero is the innovator behind "Night of the Living Dead," "Dawn of the Dead" and "Creepshow."

A significant tribute will also be presented to the cast of "Battlestar Galactia" with a cast reunion and a "farewell tribute" featuring Edward James Olmos, Tricia Helfer, Grace Park, James Callis, Kate Vernon, Katee Sackhoff, Michael Trucco Tahmoh Penikett and executive producer David Eick.

The awards themselves are of the people's choice variety with 16 different categories. J.J. Abrams’ sci-fi action-adventure “Star Trek” leads all entries with 17 nominations including the categories of The Ultimate Scream, Best Science Fiction Movie, Best Director, Best Ensemble, Holy Sh*t Scene-of-the-Year (we couldn't make that up) and a nod in the all-new Fight Scene-of-the-Year category. “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” and “Watchmen” each nabbed 13 nominations while "Twilight" received 10. HBO’s “True Blood” led all television series with nine nominations. Fans can log onto scream.spike.com until Saturday, October 17 to vote for their favorites.

The 2009 Scream Awards, which honors the best fantasy and horror flicks, is airing more New Moon footage at the award ceremony and the full cast — including Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, will introduce the clip.

Twilight,' 'True Blood' Battle It Out At Spike TV's Scream Awards

'Star Trek' leads nominations with 17, but vampires are also strong contenders.

The 2009 Spike TV Scream Awards are totally going to suck. And probably bite too.

That's because there's a decidedly vampiric feel to this year's show, with "Twilight" and "True Blood" landing a combined 19 nominations, including nods for Best Fantasy Movie and Best TV Show. The two franchises will even go head-to-head in a handful of categories, including Best Ensemble and Best Villain, where Cam Gigandet faces off against Alexander Skarsgård.

Oh, and don't worry; both R.Pattz and K.Stew got nominated too, for Best Fantasy Actor and Actress.

But the undead action doesn't stop there. Not only will the cast of "True Blood" be on hand for the awards, but during the telecast, vampire fans will be treated to the world premiere of new footage from the hotly anticipated "New Moon" film. Seriously, we told you this was gonna bite.

We’ve had our inbox flooded today with questions about the announcement that Spike TV’s Scream 2009 awards telecast on October 27 will feature cast from “New Moon” introducing footage from the highly anticipated “Twilight” sequel.

Here’s what we’ve learned. While it’s been reported elsewhere as fact that the “full cast” will be in attendance, Gossip Cop is told by sources close to the production that specifics are premature. Stars including Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner are still in play for the ceremony, but final arrangements haven’t been confirmed yet, say “Twilight” insiders and Spike.

Gossip Cop will give you official details when everything is hammered out, which we’ve been informed will be early next week.

Rumored couple Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart will reunite in our TV sets this October! The ‘Twilight’ love team together with co-star Taylor Lautner are set to present never before seen footages of their upcoming flick “New Moon” in the 4th Annual Scream Awards 2009.

Spike’s annual Scream Awards features and honors the scary, creepy and adorable monsters and comic book characters. So, let’s expect to see a scary version of Edward Cullen, I can imagine Robert Pattinson’s popular character having a very sharp fang and blood all over his face, eeeeek!Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are still in Vancouver, Canada for the production of Twilight’s third installment “Eclipse”. Last week it was reported elsewhere as fact that Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner were slated to attend Spike TV’s Scream 2009 awards, which airs on October 27.

At the time, we noted it was premature to report exactly who was and wasn’t confirmed. Today Gossip Cop has confirmed – ahead of the pack – that so far from “Twilight” ONLY Taylor Lautner is scheduled to attend the awards show. There will be a world premiere of new footage from “New Moon” as well.

Other celebrities who will be in attendance include at the Scream 2009 Awards include: Anna Paquin, Megan Fox, Tobey Maguire, Liv Tyler, Elijah Wood, J.J. Abrams, Quentin Tarantino, Eli Roth, among others.

L'award meilleur espoir masculin est revenu à Taylor Lautner (Rob était également nommé). Quand il est monté chercher son trophée il a déclaré "C'est mon premier Scream award. Au niveau du reportage de New Moon diffusé apparemment pas d'images inédites du film. c'était surtout sur les coulisses du film et les effets spéciaux pour les loups.

Twilight n'a pas eu le "Ultimate Scream Award" qui est revenu à Star Treck. Par contre il a remporté le "Best Fantasy Movie".
